No bake Gajar Halwa cheesecake jars are a delicious Indian fusion dessert with layers of carrot halwa, cheesecake and Parle-G biscuit crust. Garnished with nuts and rose petals, they make pretty festive cheesecake jars.
About Gajar Halwa Cheesecake
Homemade Gajar Halwa weaves many memories from my childhood. It has been one of the customary Indian sweets that my amma (mom) has been preparing every year. This tradition has been passed on to our family too and my children look forward every year.
However every now and then, I do enjoy serving my desserts as a makeover.
This Indian cheesecake jar has two of my favourite desserts in a single jar – Gajar Halwa and cheesecake. Together they make a super delicious combo! I’ve made these for the ASDA Diwali event in 2019 and it was super hit then too.
If you have carrot halwa ready, then these festive gajar halwa jars take just under 30 minutes to prepare.
I love the idea of serving my desserts in jars / glasses because they are convenient to serve and great for portion control too. And if you are like me, you may reach out for two!
You will love these Carrot Halwa cheesecake jars because they are
- No-bake fusion Indian dessert and No cook too!
- Ready in under 30 minutes
- Easy to assemble and serve individual portions
- Serve in mason jars, cups, shot glasses
- Perfect for festive occasions like Diwali party, Holi, Christmas or Potluck party and Birthdays too.
- Easy to double or half the recipe.
Ingredients
Gajar Halwa – You can make them at home with my easy recipe for Gajar Halwa or use store-bought ones. If you are in the UK, you can buy Royal Gajar Halwa dessert. It is easily available at Asda, Tesco, or Indian grocery stores near you.
Biscuit – I have used Parle- G biscuit for this cheesecake base as they kindle childhood memories. You can also use Lotus biscoff or Marie Biscuit, Digestives, or Graham crackers.
Cheesecake Ingredients – I have used my standard cheesecake ingredients, which include cream cheese, cream, and powdered sugar.
For flavouring these cheesecake jars, I have used ground cardamom. I also love to use almond extract instead of cardamom for a variation.
How to make Gajar Halwa Cheesecake step by step?
Gajar Halwa – I love making gajar ka halwa at home. However, for a last-minute dessert idea, I buy them from stores too. And this no-bake Indian fusion dessert is ready in under 30 minutes.
Cheesecake biscuit layer
First, make a biscuit crust with parle g biscuit and butter. If parle g is not available, you can use Marie biscuit or even digestives.
Cheesecake filling
Whip the Double cream into a stiff peak. Next, in a separate bowl add cream cheese, cardamom powder, and icing sugar. Fold the cream cheese mixture into the whipped cream, gently so that the cream is airy and doesn’t deflate.
If you have access to almond extract or Kesar elachi essence, you can add that instead of cardamom powder too.
Assembly
Once the cream cheese mixture is ready, assemble the jars.
First, layer with the biscuit crumb and then fill with alternate layers of cream cheese and gajar halwa.
If the serving glasses are smaller, just do one layer of cream cheese and gajar ka halwa.
Finally, garnish with nuts, rose petals, and Chandi vark (edible silver leaf) if using any, and serve.
