oxo mandoline slicer This new year began on a very healthy note after I inaugurated my brand new OXO Mandoline slicer. Making salads has never been so easy and so uniform, I must admit !!! And coming to the most exciting part, OXO has been generous enough to giveaway One reader of Sandhya’s Kitchen A Simple Mandoline Slicer. Scroll down to win a chance of this Heathy Aid gadget worth 40£ I wanted to make Pear chips last year and tried slicing them with a knife, but did not achieve the uniformity and the see- through thinness that was desired. Still ended up making the yummy crystalised Pear thins, but not up to the standard.  Somewhere in the corner of my mind,  I did wish for one !!! And guess Santa did hear that:) Just before Christmas, OXO Mandoline slicer got delivered and I bounced high in excited:) Bet you can relate to what I mean. oxo mandoline slicer After all the sweet treats and celebrations in December, our detox and healthy month began with a bang!!! Uniformly sliced tomato thins, onion thins and cucumbers were just what was needed. Season with some salt and pepper and we enjoyed them as a starter every now and then!! Mumbai’s Veg Sandwich is our family’s hot favourite and the slicer has been the favourite equipment. All the veggies need to be sliced thin and circle. SO what else do you need:) Baked Potato Chips is in my to try list and with this Mandoline slicer there is going to be no looking back. This Mandoline slicer has a soft handle providing a soft, comfortable grip coupled with non-slip feet making them steady and easy to use can stand free on a clean tabletop. oxo mandoline slicer OXo Mandoline Slicer The tab slides to easily adjust between three slice thickness settings, julienne setting and storage setting. The angled stainless steel blade slices even soft foods with ease and the textured runway ensure that no food gets stuck while you’re slicing. The spring-loaded food holder pushes food for even slicing with little to no waste, and has a generous rim to protect your fingers. The legs fold in and the food holder nests on the upside-down Simple Mandoline Slicer for convenient, compact storage. Use the provided hand guard, I would say!! If you are novice like me, bet you will experiment without the hand guard. The blades are really sharp!!! And I did chip off a lot of skin at the tip of my fingers… in the first two days.. sheer overconfidence! Sometimes, lessons learnt the hard way stay with us for long. And ever after that incident, I do use the Hand guard most of the times:) To be in with a chance of winning the OXO Mandoline Slicer, all you have to do is enter via the rafflecopter form below. You can even win extra entries by tweeting and sharing some of my recipes each day. This giveaway is open to UK residents only and runs until Wednesday, March 9th, 2016 a Rafflecopter giveaway
