About this Honey roasted carrots recipe
I learned this recipe for Honey Glazed carrots from a chef friend and let me tell you they are so good. Aside from traditional flavors, he suggested I toss the cooked carrots in butter with cumin seeds, turmeric, garam masala, or curry powder and honey.
I call this garam masala roasted carrots recipe simple, quick, easy, and hassle-free as it is pretty straightforward. All the ingredients are stocked in my pantry/refrigerator. So it is as simple as cooking the carrots, tossing them with the rest of the ingredients, and Serving! These glazed carrots can be made on the hob, oven, or even Instant Pot.
This delicious side is something that you can stir up in just under 15 minutes and is perfect with your holiday meals or even weeknight dinners.
I love serving them occasionally with naan bread, Tarka dal, pickled onions, and cucumber raita for a speedy Indian meal.
WHY YOU’LL LOVE THIS RECIPE?
Minimal preparation -This Roasted Carrots recipe requires hardly any prep. As I love using baby carrots / mini carrots – no peeling is required because of the tenderness.
Any variety of carrots – Use mini carrots, bunched carrots, large, or small carrots for this holiday carrots recipe
Versatile – Vary the spice and the flavors to suit your liking.
Vegan side dish – Turn this into a vegan side dish by swapping maple syrup for honey and using Vegan butter. I have made Maple roasted carrots in my Instant Pot – fancy trying it?
INGREDIENTS
You will need 9 ingredients to make these easy Honey-glazed Carrots recipe including water, salt & pepper. All the ingredients are basic and easy to find.
Carrots – I like to use mini carrots, especially as they are tender. However, you can use any variety of carrots – big, small, or bunched. If the carrots are big, scrub, peel, and dice them to equal sizes
Honey – lends sweetness to the roasted carrots. For Vegan alternatives use Maple syrup glaze.
Butter – adds richness in taste to these glazed carrots. I wouldn’t swap for oil unless I don’t have them in my pantry.
Cumin seeds, Turmeric and Garam Masala – together lend the Indian flavor profile to the glazed carrots.
Water – is needed to boil the carrots until just cooked.
Salt & Pepper to taste
