A review of the new Gin Explorer subscription box and a giveaway to win a three months subscription worth £69.99.

  • I absolutely love gin with champagne and fresh lemon – a real naughty treat!! I also love it with tonic and angostura bitters (not a lot of my friends have heard of this but I drank it a lot in Australia).

    • Yes!! I’m so glad someone else loves Angostura bitters as well, I ask for it here in the UK and they have to ask me to repeat it 5 times before saying they don’t have any! 😛

  • I may sound boring here but I love a bit of lime! Gin, tonic water and lime! A good tip too, I like to squeeze the lime in then run it around the rim of the glass (for an extra zing!) Then drop it in the glass. Perfect. X

  • A bramble is always a safe bet, however if its a really nice gin I always think a simple Tom Collins is the way to go. Occasionally I go crazy and add a dash of elderflower cordial 🙂

    30ml gin
    2 tsp apricot glaze or sieved apricot jam
    30ml passionfruit juice drink (from a 1 litre carton)

  • Much as I love a Singapore Sling, I wouldn’t use a really special gin for it as the aromatics wouldn’t come through. I’d much prefer to use it in a simple gin and tonic, using good quality tonic water.

  • I very rarely drink, but my partner likes to occasional g & t. I have spent hours collecting sloes, fighting with that prickly blackthorn. Years ago, a company was trying to contact me with a job offer and I’d been out with my daughter most of the day sloe harvesting. They were worrying I’d taken another job. They did understand when I explained though. Sloe gin is worth the effort.
