Avocado Hummus

Avocado Hummus

Avocado Hummus – Why did I take so long to bring you to my table?

This is exactly what I felt when I whipped up this super quick Avocado Hummus a few days ago. Can I call it cross of Hummus and Guacamole? Well, it’s somewhere between them and completely different. Avocado Hummus is not all about mixing the 2 readily available ingredients together. It sure has the goodness of both but with its own individual character.
Avocado Hummus

I have made it a few times now… and the bowl is licked clean every single time. When I made this super creamy Avocado Hummus last week, our friendly handyman who was working on our garage conversion came in.. . Looking at the Avocado Hummus picture in my laptop, he said, I feel like eating them now. He has been working with us for a few years now and he partially helps me with my food photography backgrounds 🙂

What he didn’t know was I had whipped a quick batch and kept it in fridge. A few minutes later, I showed up in the garage treating him to a tiny dip bowl of hummus and oatcakes…

He loved it and said it’s absolutely refreshing and cool. All I needed for this hot weather. He was so keen in knowing what went into this great lip smacking dip so he could recreate the recipe for his fellow mates. How cool is that??

Well sometimes, simple recipes like Avocado Hummus are stunningly easy and they will turn out to be a crowd pleaser in a BBQ party or even as an appetiser.

Avocado Hummus

Healthy, creamy and delicious is how I describe them!!

We enjoyed them over for dinner last week with pita bread, salad and some homemade salsa too.

Serves 4 | Total Time Taken: 5 MINUTES

Avocado Hummus

400g Canned chick peas, well drained { Save the aquafaba for later }
2 medium ripe avocados, cored and peeled
50g Coriander Leaves
4 Tbsp Water
1 1/2 Tsp tahini { Sesame Seed Paste }
Juice of 1 Lemon
1 large clove garlic, peeled & crushed
Salt to taste
1 Tsp Cumin
2 Tbsp Extra Virgin Olive Oil

Toppings/ Garnishing
Olive oil
1 Tbsp chopped coriander – finely chopped or with stalk
Red pepper flakes

Drain the chickpeas well and rinse. Reserve at least 3 Tbsp chickpeas for serving. Also ensure to reserve the aquafaba from the chickpeas. I have a fantastic link to share at the end of the post that could treat yourself with the aquafaba.
Blend all the remaining ingredients together in a hi speed blender or in a food processor until smooth.
Taste and add more lemon juice, garlic or salt as needed.

Transfer the Avocado Hummus to a shallow bowl. Garnish well with extra drizzle of olive oil, reserved chickpeas, coriander leaves and red pepper flakes.

Serve Avocado Hummus with oats cakes, nachos chips or even pita Breads

pita bread (saving 30p) and
oatcakes (saving 40p) .

Photograph the receipt on either side, with your phone and upload it to the app. You can do a couple of retakes and upload, if you think the photo is not clear.
Once submitted, it takes 2 days approximately for the approval and payment is made straight your bank account or Paypal once the minimum cash back reaches £1.50. In my case, I received a payout of £3.50.
