My daughter loves Apple Chips and no doubt its such an addictive snack! We are so lucky to have friends around locally, who also own apple trees. That calls for many more Apple recipes isn’t it?
Healthy homemade apple chips are thinly sliced apples, sprinkled with cinnamon and they are Baked or Air fried to perfection until crisp. The good news is that – these chips are air-fried and not deep-fried!
So goes the saying – An apple a day keeps the doctor away!
Our apple chips uses only 2 Ingredients – apples and cinnamon. It uses no added Sugar or no added preservatives unlike the shop bought chips. Enjoy your apple chips in moderation!

How to Make Air Fryer Apple Chips?
To make Healthy Air fryer Cinnamon Apple Chips, you will need only 2 ingredients -Apples and Cinnamon and 3 easy steps!
Step 1 – Wash the apples, dry to touch and slice them thin to 1/8th Inch using a mandolin slicer or knife. Getting them uniformly cut is important.
Its perfectly fine, if the slices are not uniform – But bear in mind, they may cook differently to the ones cut even. Some may be crisp, some may not! They will still be delicious. Its a misconception – Thinner the chips, crispier it is!
If you like Paper thin Apple Chips – slice the Apples to 1/16th Inch. Detailed instructions and cooking time is included in the recipe card.
Step 2 – Toss the sliced apples with cinnamon and arrange them in air fryer basket. The apple slices will be overlapping each other.
Step 3 – Air fry the chips at 150 C for about 22 minutes, flipping every 5 minutes until the apple slices are free of moisture and there are no shiny spots.
Once all the apple slices dry out well, increase the temperature to 160 C and set the time to 7 minutes. Flip and turn the apple slices every 2 minutes. Apple slices with curl in the edges and will gain colour quickly. Remove any chips that are brown quicker than the rest.

TIPS & SUGGESTIONS for making BEST AIR FRIED APPLE CHIPS
Wash the Apple really well, to ensure the apples are clear of the wax.
Do not slice Apples with more than 1/8th inch thick. Thin slices of Apples will yield crispy chips. Thicker slices will not be crispy but they will still be delicious.
Coring the Apples is to a personal liking. I prefer to core the apples sometimes, when my daughter was too little! There is no worry about the kids choking with the seeds.
Color of the Apple Chip -will depend on the type of apple. After numerous experiments, we found Crispy variety of apples like granny smith turn lighter whereas Soft sweet variety of apples like royal gala yield darker chips.
Store these air fryer apple chips in air tight jars for up to a week.
Cooking Time will vary depending on the variety of apples use and how much moisture remains in the apples. So adjust accordingly.

- Instant Pot Duo Crisp Airfryer

Ingredients
- 2 medium Apples – Granny Smith, Honeycrisp, Fuji, Jazz, Pink Lady or Gala
- 1 Tsp ground Cinnamon
Instructions
- Slice the Apples to 1/8th inch using Mandoline Slicer or knife. Remove seeds from the slices.
- Toss them with cinnamon and arrange them in air fryer basket. The apple slices will be overlapping each other.
- Place the inner stainless-steel pot into the Instant Pot cooker base and Insert the air fryer basket with basket base.
- Place the Air fryer Lid on the cooker base. Select the AIRFRY programme. Adjust the +/- keys to adjust the Time and Temperature to 150 C and 22 minutes. Press Start.
- Flip and turn the apple slices around every 5 minutes, so that they evenly dry out. The apple slices should not be be wet or shiny.
- Once all the apple slices dry out well, increase the temperature to 160 C and set the time to 7 minutes. Press Start.
- Flip and turn the apple slices every 2 minutes. Apple slices with curl in the edges and will gain colour quickly. Remove any chips that are brown quicker than the rest.
- Transfer the chips to a bowl. They will become crispy as they cool down.
- Enjoy guilt free snacking!
- Store baked apple chips in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 1 week.
