About this recipe for Air fryer Baked Apples

These Small-batch baked apples are just too delicious! I love to make this almost instant & easy dessert when I am craving a healthy-ish sweet treat.

We had a fantastic haul of apples from our garden this year and Apple recipes have been on repeat for the last few months. I have been making ABC Juice, Air fryer Apple Chips, Apple Butter, Apple crisp, Baked Apples, Apple Crumble, and Apple Cider drink.

I usually make a large serving of Baked apples in the oven and its soo good with ice cream. Plus my house smells so festive when I am baking them.

One of the recent times when I was making Baked apples, I turned to my Instant Pot Vortex air fryer and it was a huge success. I had to switch around the method a bit and it was totally worth it. Since then these tender, caramelized apples have been on repeat. Really loved how quickly they were ready in minutes.

When the air fryer was getting preheated, I chopped the apples. Then transferred it to the air fryer and baked it for just 8-10 minutes. Immediately drizzle over some maple syrup or honey, brown sugar, and cinnamon. Isn’t it so quick and easy air-fried apples?

Tips to make perfect Air fryer Apples

Fresh Apples – You can use any variety of firm fresh apples – Fuji, Gala, Golden Delicious, Honey Gold, Jonathan, Braeburn, Granny Smith!

Sweetener– Adjust the seasoning based on the variety of apples. If your apple is tart, you may have to add a little more sweetener to adjust the flavors.

Butter – Simply brush the apples with a little butter. This adds delicious buttery flavors to the apples. Both Dairy and Dairy-free Butter works in this recipe.

Seasoning – I like to use a simple family favorite seasoning of Maple Syrup, light brown sugar & cinnamon. However, you can also add nutmeg, or ground ginger, or even pumpkin spice.

Air frying time – Cooking time can vary depending upon the thickness of apple slices. If the apples are too thick, you may need to add a few more minutes to your air frying time.

Do not Over Cook – Overcooking the apples in the oven can leave them mushy and too soft. Remember to cook until fork tender.

Depending upon the model and size of the air fryer, the cooking time can vary. I have used Instant Pot Vortex Air fryer 6 in 1 for this recipe.

Serving Suggestions

Serve these Air fryer Apples warm in a bowl on its own. These baked apples make a hit combo with vanilla ice cream or vanilla yoghurt too.
