ABOUT THIS VEGAN BASIL PESTO SAUCE

Make some room for this delicious homemade Basil Pesto! It’s so easy to whip that your meal times can be sorted in under 30 minutes! I really mean it.

We make Pasta for dinner at least once a week and we usually like to stir in  Coriander Pesto Sauce , Pomodoro Sauce, the White Béchamel sauce, this Basil Almond Pesto and many more.

I learned this recipe for Fresh Basil Pesto with almonds from my sister in law a couple of years ago. Her pesto sauce was authentic with fresh ingredients and I had to learn it right away. I remember documenting the proportions before we went yapping any further.

WHY MAKE HOMEMADE BASIL PESTO?

I love making Instant homemade pesto sauce all the time and this basil pesto for pasta can be made in a breeze. Simply blend the basil, nuts, garlic, and cheese with some olive oil. A little more or a little less of the ingredients will not make a big difference, so feel free to play with the available ingredients in the pantry.

BASIL PESTO INGREDIENTS

Basil – We are lucky to have homegrown basil through the year. Even during winter months, they do so well on my window sill. After nearly 8 months of so, when they were wilting away, I decided to pluck them all and add them to my sauce.

Nuts – Crazy isn’t it!  You can swap Almonds for any nuts like Cashewnuts and Pinenuts. I use Pesto sauce  as a golden opportunity to sneak in nuts they don’t like, as they really cannot make out a difference.

Consistency – Well, if you like the consistency chunky, you can use a pestle and mortar to muddle through the sauce. The other way to make it, is to whiz the ingredients up for a really short period.   I like my consistency slightly smooth, so I tend to blend it for long.

Garlic – Roasted garlic vs Raw Garlic – Either of them works. Roasted Garlic adds more flavor as opposed to the raw garlic. So it’s entirely up to you.

Cheese or Nutritional Yeast  – I like to add Parmesan Cheese when I make the sauce as it adds a lot of creaminess. However ,when I run out of Cheese, I make  Vegan Basil Pesto using Nutritional Yeast It tastes  just too equally good.

HOW TO MAKE THE BEST BASIL PESTO?

Making Pesto Sauce is just as easy as child’s play. Simply add all the ingredients to the blender and whizz them for short period. If you like it smooth, splash a tablespoon of water at a time and whizz again.

Check for seasoning and you are ready to use the Instant Pesto for Pasta, Pizza or even with grilled meat or fish.

Optimum Blender

Hailing from India, we are used to grinding Spices, Chutneys, and Lentil Batter regularly. Each of them has a particular consistency varying from coarse and-like to smooth. Locally sourced blenders are not powerful enough that I have imported many of my Kitchen Gadgets from India for different purposes – blending, grinding, juicing etc. One powerful Magical High-Speed Blender is something I always desired to replace most of them. Small Jar of the Mixer Grinder from India for dry spices, chutneys, then a Grinder just for making Lentil Batter , a smoothie maker for Smoothies, Juices etc. This list can go on.

When Froothie UK asked me if I would like to review their new Optimum G2.1 High-Speed Blender, It was a definite yes! No second thought at all.

After carefully unpacking the powerful beast, I have just been admiring this Sophisticated Machine for a couple of days. I just could not take my eyes off it. But before I could actually cast my review, the Blender was put to a good test starting from Grinding dry spices to a curry gravy to a silken smooth Sauce. Yes, I made Basil Almond Pesto with my new toy.

Coming back to my Blender !!!

The G2.1 Platinum Blender is Sleek, Smart, Seamlessly blending with my kitchen decor, Powerful and Sophisticated.

The LCD touch Panel comes with Six Automatic one push buttons to create the perfect Soups, Sorbets, Grind, Sauces, Nut milk and Smoothies along with a few touch buttons for altering Speed, Time, Pulse and Power.

You could manually decide how much to grind using the pulse Button.

Multipurpose BPA Jug :

One for all is all I can say about this durable 2 L multipurpose Dry/Wet Jug with chrome steel bearing.

One lovely feature that really impressed me was that the jug would sit on the base without any need for twisting and turning . There is usually a knack that is needed to get the food jar sit on the blender/food processor base. But I am so glad its a no Brainer here!!

And a big plus is that cleaning is really simple. Blades need not be removed.

The only con I would say is that #wish there was a smaller jar provided too to action on small individual portions.

About the Motor Base:

Optimum’s powerful carbon brush motor varies electricity consumption based on the power required. They can cut through the thickest ingredients easily !!!

For extra durability, G2.1 base has a built-in sensor which automatically switches off the motor when a machine gets over heated due to prolonged usage. There is nothing to worry. If the machine trips, simply switch it on.

Before buying any gadget, reading reviews and comparisons is something that I always do. Other than G2.1 blender I have not owned any other Smart blenders. Statistics on Froothie’s website speaks for itself.Optimum Blender

A little bit of Extras :

  • 10 years warranty on the motor and 5 years on the Parts
  • 80 Recipes comprehensive hard-copy recipe book is great to begin with.
  • Froothie UK offers all UK buyers a free 30 Day Money Back Guarantee – Includes Return Postage! I doubt you would ever need it.
  • Heavy duty tamper tool for improved processing and mixing
  • FREE Nut Milk Bag – Something that I always wanted.
  • Access to expert support team
  • Get the Optimum G2.1 Platinum blender for £429 instead of £599 if you order before April 30th.
