This cinnamon apple smoothie is one of my favourite ways to enjoy apples all year round. Make this smoothie with just four ingredients in 5 minutes to enjoy right away. No banana or yogurt needed!

Having made this vegan apple smoothie with cinnamon at least a hundred times, I can confidently say it tastes better with oat milk than with dairy milk. You can also add as many or as few extras as you like.
It’s simple, well-balanced, and doesn’t rely on bananas or yogurt to taste good. Living in the UK, we’re lucky to have great apples available year-round, so if there’s one fruit you’ll always find in my fruit basket, it’s Gala apples. This apple shake works perfectly for breakfast or as an easy afternoon pick-me-up.
If you enjoy simple, plant-based drinks like my apple celery juice or apple banana smoothie, this one will fit right in.

👩🏻🍳Sandhya's Top Tips
- Don't peel the apples in advance, as it will discolour. Only peel just before making the smoothie.
- Use sweet variety apples like Gala if you want to avoid adding any sweetener.
- Serve immediately for best flavour and texture.
- For a smooth texture fresh apple smoothie - peel the apples. Also, if your blender isn’t high-powered.
- Always blend the apple with half the milk well first for a good texture.
📋Ingredients
(Detailed ingredients and quantity are mentioned in the recipe card below)

- Apple: Use a sweeter variety, crisp apples like Gala, Fuji, Pink Lady, or Honey crisp. Peel if your blender isn’t high-powered.
- Cinnamon: Ground cinnamon works perfectly. Use Ceylon cinnamon if you have it for a milder, slightly sweeter flavour.
- Milk: I like to use unsweetened oat milk. But feel free to use almond milk, soy milk or dairy.
- Sugar: I add just a teaspoon for 2 cups. But feel free to use maple syrup or dates. You can totally cut it down too.
- Ice cubes: My kids love a colder smoothie, so I make sure to add a few ice cubes for them.
Variations
- Protein Powder- I like to add it to the shake if I am making it pre-workout for the family.
- Chia seeds
- Add nutmeg (just a pinch) for a warmer, spiced apple shake
- Vanilla extract
- Oats-Blend with rolled oats to turn them into a breakfast smoothie.
- Frozen Banana - For a creamy smoothie.

❓Recipe FAQs
Yes. This recipe is naturally dairy-free and uses plant-based milk only.
You can, but raw apples give a fresher flavour. Cooked apples will make it thicker and sweeter.
You can freeze it, but the texture is best when fresh. Frozen apple slices work better than freezing the blended smoothie.
