We were recently invited to London for the launch of the new Microsoft surface. My son is a huge technology fan and he was super excited to explore Microsoft Surface Go and its features.

Though we live in a close proximity to London, travelling as a family to London is quite occasional . It was a great opportunity for my son and me to have our me-time, travelling by train/ tube, chitchatting, enjoying a quick meal and then arriving to the event.. Just an ideal day to spend with a 10 years old!

The event was organised at The White space near Covent Garden with creative and interactive sessions for both children and adults. Whilst the younger attendees (Age 7- 12) were exploring Surface Go, we were listening to the interesting discussion from the industry leaders – Ben Fogle, Cath Price, Jennifer Howze and William Jones.

The Event began with a session from experts sharing their thoughts on bridging creativity and technology and how to inspire the next generation to use it effectively.
Well, Creativity is the most important quality for children’s growth and if we can fuel it up with technology it can’t get any better for children’s growth.

Creativity is also problem-solving. If you’re looking to spend a day out with children you can check out the gopark apps with them and find out the nearest place to explore. If technology can facilitate activities outside it is amazing..

The conclusion of the whole discussion on how we can use technology effectively and creatively was amazing by the panel and I had a few takeaway on how to apply them at home. Idea is to bridge our daily life – be indoor, outdoor,  playtime, parenting , education along with technology in an appropriate measure to bring out the best out of creativity and imagination!!

Though Minecraft was installed in the portable Gadget, my son enjoyed making a perspective drawing and a Penguin on the 3D paint!! He kept raving about 3D tool & pen and has already added Surface Go on his wish list!
Later on, there was a joint session for parents and children by Paul Clarke, the artist, teacher and creative media expert on how to create an imaginary 3D creature using the images of animals and birds provided on Surface GO.  Every moment of free flow creativity was just amazing.

Some of the Key Specs of Microsoft Surface Go that caught my attention were

It comes with Built in Paint 3D but the pen needs to be bought separately.
Keyboard is detachable
10” Surface Go starts at just 522 g and fits easily in your bag.
It comes with a rear-facing 8.0 megapixel HD camera, just great for bloggers like me 🙂
Charges really fast with 9 hours of video playback

The Surface Go starts at £379 for the basic model. In my opinion, it is a great price for a portable family gadget that is fabulous for everyday work and play.

Christmas is not far and Microsoft Surface Go is already on my son’s top priority Christmas List!! I hope you are reading Santa.

Disclosure:We were invited to attend the event and compensated for our time.
