Vedant’s adventure at the Barracudas Activity Camp.
Easter breaks are usually planned with lazy mornings, tons of activities or at least an outdoor trip for 3 days as a family. But this year was actually quite different. We didn’t have much in our bucket and so did daddy have an emergency minor surgery.. This did fail a lot of our plans and we just stayed local.
Thankfully, Barracudas Activity Camp had got in touch asking if both my little buddies Vedant/10 & Shreya/5 would love to try out the camp for 2 days over Easter and I had agreed upon it without a second thought. But my little missy didn’t want to leave mummy and go for an activity camp. She still has her limitations to participate in something new and gets a lot of bubbles and anxiety!! Really hoping she eventually gets out of it with age.
On the contrary, my son Vedant was super thrilled about attending the camp.
Barracudas offers outstanding quality childcare at over 43 locations during summer and Easter activity day camps in England, for children aged between 4½ to 14 years for the last 25 years. It works like a perfect childcare for busy parents, whether you enrol a single or for the whole week. Single Day Activity camp costs approximately 40£ if booked in advance and 165£ for the week.
Enrolling my son at Barracudas Activity Camp was a piece of cake. I had literally called up and booked him through at St James Senior Boys School which was just 1.8 miles away from home. The Easter & summer camps are usually open from 8:30am to 5:30pm, but they do extend their hours from 8am to 6pm if you need a bit more flexibility with your childcare arrangements. How convenient is that!!
As the date to the camp was nearing, I did receive a reminder email with the dates and additional information.
** Remember to log in online before the camp, fill in all the essential details and print it out. This is essential to gain an entry into the camp.
Vedant was overly enthusiastic about the adventures and activities that he was going to experience at the camp. We had enrolled him for 2 days at the camp and each day was slightly different from the other.
On arrival, we were greeted by an enthusiastic front house team who gave him a sticker badge and took him to the Dolphin’s group. Groups at the camp are split into 3 age related groups.
I received an email with their schedule of the activities for the day.. and trust me, I wished to be a child that day. The activity range was really exciting and
The kiddos had activities to choose right from
Quad Bikes – Dodgeball
Bungee Run – Badminton
Fencing Area -Scavenger Hunt
Vedant kept raving about all the fun he had playing dodgeball, badminton, fencing and at the talent show. As a parent, what I really loved about the camp is that children get to take ownership of the activities they participate in, rather than compulsion. V also made some fantastic friends at the two days camp that he was really sad about missing them.
A week later on, V is still talking about the dodgeball fun and the pranks they played around. Every now and then, he talks about what he did at the camp. Well that calls it a perfect wrap for the Easter Break!!!
Vedant has already placed in a request to join Barracudas Activity Camp for the summer term!! In his lingo – he rates it 10 on 10!!!
Disclosure: We were kindly offered two days to try out in exchange for an honest review. All opinions expressed here are of my own.
