I personally use a vegetable chopper from OXO, which makes preparing this no-cook Indian salads a breeze. While there’s no strict proportion of ingredients, the combination of crunchy vegetables is what makes this salad so delicious.
I’ve kept the flavours simple to complement spicy curries. But you can also add spices like chaat masala, Kashmiri red chilli powder, or roasted cumin powder to enhance the taste of this fresh, light Indian kachumber salad.

- ⅓ cucumber (120g) diced to 1/4 inch cube
- 2 salad tomatoes (120g) diced to 1/4 inch cube
- ½ red onion (60g) diced
- ½ lemon juice
- ½ tsp salt or add more
- ¼ tsp ground black pepper optional
- 3 tbsp fresh coriander leaves chopped
