Every Summer needs a Brand ‘New’ Gin Drink and now, we have a Earl Grey Infused Gin Cocktail.
Weather is super dooper warm today and for a change I am home alone.. On warm days like these, I just want to put my feet up and enjoy a glass of chilled Mango Earl Grey Infused Gin Cocktail.
The Good folks at Fortnum & Mason challenged me to work on a TeaTail recipe and I was right upfront.. Who doesn’t love Fortnum & Mason. There was no second thought about choosing Earl Grey Classic for this challenge. The British Prime minister Earl Grey gave his name to this hugely popular tea back in the 1830s, and has since been thought of as a classic English afternoon tea. Its flavour is made up of simple black tea flavoured with stimulating oil of bergamot. How interesting isn’t it!!!
I came up with this idea for Earl Grey Infused Gin Cocktail whilst travelling to Isle of Wight on the ferry. Gazing at one of the mocktails in the magazine, all I wanted to do was to make one right away.. My hands were itchy to make, shoot and sip one.
For people who know me, I love love my drinks – smoothie, mocktails, cocktails.. Adding the mango nectar gave the Earl Grey Infused Gin Cocktail an uplift to a whole new level. Again Mango.. – You really cannot get the Mango addiction of me in the summer 🙂
Specially with warm days like today, I could not think moody instead bright, minty and fruity punch it is.
Don’t think much about how difficult the Drink sounds.. Actually its super easy. Brew the Tea with Gin and let it infuse for atleast 2 hours. Simultaneously get the honey simple syrup sorted and voila.. tats all the big preparation needed.
Was it laborious? Not at all isn’t it.
Next is the fun part of putting them together.
Muddle the lemon/ lime wedges, mint leaves and ginger in the glass. Add the Earl Grey infused Gin, Simple Syrup, Lemon Juice, Orange Juice, Mango Nectar and top it with as much as Soda Water needed.
To give our drink a fancy makeover, serve them with a mint leaves and those gorgeous colorful straw.
But this drink can make the perfect mocktail too for teetotallers. .. Just leave out the Gin, add a little more Brewed Earl Grey Tea concotion and follow the rest of the steps… Yumm isn’t it!!
