If I must say that I have tasted the best risotto ever recently, it was at Hunter 486. The Arch London’s smart five-star boutique restaurant HUNTER 486 has luxurious interior design and a super cozy feel.
Located in the heart of London, Hunter 486 restaurant is named after the 1950s dialling code for Marylebone. The restaurant boasts some amazing interior features with glass chandeliers and leather booths. Whilst the kitchen has an open airy plan allowing the guests to watch the chefs at work.
Before we actually sat down to enjoy the evening, we were accompanied across the hotel introducing us to the Whitehall, Study, Martini Library and Le Salon de Champagne on the ground floor. On the top floors are Deluxe and Suite rooms. Each room is different from the other and is charming in its own way.
The Arch London is a member of Small Luxury Hotels of the World™ and Pride of Britain. The hotel boasts 82 bedrooms including eleven sumptuous suites spread over six floors. Floors are considerately numbered 1, 2, 3, and 5 as the number 4 is considered unlucky in Asian cultures. Spacious interconnecting rooms are on offer for families or larger groups.
The corridor has a set of creative framework captured in alphabets. Whilst we were at the end of the Hotel tour, I secretly wish to have a staycation at the Deluxe suites one day. Santa, I hope you reading.
We were guests of Hunter 486 and were kindly offered a table by the window. Street lights streaming through the large windows were throwing in a gorgeous view of the neighbourhood.. Really loved the ambience inside the restaurant as dusk began to set in.
Our servers Marialla and Jessica were absolutely fabulous. With total personal assistance, Jessica explained the menu to us and what are the best choices for vegetarians. She patiently waited while we were making our choices for the Three course meals. Whilst we were waiting for the starters and drinks to come through, she brought us some of Hunter 486 best homemade breads- Soda Bread & Irish Bread and Home made chips with Lemon & Sage.
What I really loved about the restaurant was that they are absolutely flexible with amendments to suit the guests. I had chosen Pomegranate Mojito minus Ginger Beer and the bar tender happily made me one just as requested. A super delighted guest from the very beginning.
For our starters, we chose Quinoa rocket and pomegranate with orange and saffron roasted fennel and Goats Curd & honey stuffed courgette flower, peas and tomato. Our selections came out pretty fast and in a very impressive presentation. It was not just the presentation, we were blown out with the flavours. Loved every bit of our starters.
On our Main Course, Hari selected a super refreshing Sun dried tomato polenta, heirloom tomato, avocado, olive and pine nut salad whilst I was firm with picking on Asparagus, Pea broad bean and mint risotto. My quest for my favourite most risotto has been on for a very long time ..and after every risotto I dine on, I would still find something amiss. But trust me, I could happily put an exclamation mark after enjoying my Best-est Risotto. Trust me, it did not leave me with a heavy awkward tummy. I just wanted to dive in on and on.
Hari’s Heirloom tomato salad were screaming Summer in abundance.. With the myraid of colors on his plate, the heirlooms were so naturally flavorful, that you really didn’t need much to enhance the flavour.
And then comes the best part – Dessert!
My favourite was the chocolate fondant with salted caramel icecream. The real dark chocolate fondant hit the perfect note with a spoon of salted caramel icecream. Ice cream is really very mild and the combo can turn a chocolate hater to a lover for sure.
Hari ordered for a Lemon posset, English raspberries, sesame and poppy seed biscuit. Lemon Posset was absolutely classy, mild with the perfect balance of sweetness & tartness. Together with raspberries and seed biscuit, I would call luxuriously creamy lemon posset as a perfect summer dessert.
