Strawberry Salsa

This Strawberry Salsa recipe is simple, eye- candy,  delicious and works great as a guilt-free appetiser. Serve it with your favourite chips or along with your main meal.  Takes just 10 minutes in total!

  • 1/2 Quart Strawberries hulled and diced Approx 400g
  • 1 Small  Red onion finely diced
  • 1/2 Jalapeños cut into thin slices
  • 1/2 Cup Cilantro / Coriander Leaves
  • 2 Tbsp Lemon Juice
  • 1 Tsp Lemon Zest
  • 1 Tbsp Maple Syrup
  • Salt & Pepper to taste
  1. Place strawberries, onions, cilantro, jalapeños in a large bowl.
  2. In a small bowl, add lemon zest, lemon juice and maple syrup.
  3. Slowly add the maple syrup mixture to the strawberries in the large bowl.
  4. Season with salt & pepper and gently mix all the salsa.
  5. Taste and season with more if needed.
  6. Serve the prepared strawberry salsa with homemade chips.  If the strawberries are not ripe and succulent, allow the salsa mixture to soak in the syrup for at-least 30 minutes or more in the refrigerator before serving.
Recipe Notes

f you like it spicer, leave the seeds on with the jalapeños. For mildly spiced Strawberry Salad Salsa, deseed the jalapeños and add it.
