BEANS PORIYAL | HOW TO MAKE FRENCH BEANS PORIYAL | BEANS CURRY
This simple Beans Poriyal recipe is made with french beans, coconut and tempering spices.

400gFrench BeansWashed and cut into small pieces
2TbspFresh Grated Coconut
Salt to taste
1/2TspSplit Black GramAlso known as Urad Dal
1sprig10 No’s of Curry Leaves
3Dried Red Chilly
Heat Oil in a Deep Bottom Pan and add mustard seeds. Once they crackle, add split black gram, curry leaves and saute for 25 seconds. Add French Beans, Turmeric, Salt, just about 1/2 Cup of water and cook on medium flame, covered until tender.
Grind Coconut along with green chillies in a blender and add the coconut mixture to Beans Poriyal. If you would like it plain, omit the green chillies in this step and just add grated coconut.
Serve Hot French Beans Poriyal along with Sambar and Rice .
If you enjoy a little extra heat, add one more green chilly while grinding. For a variation, add finely chopped onion in the initial step.
