Ingredients
400ggreen beanswashed, trimmed to and cut into small pieces ( ¼")
1/2Tspturmeric
salt to taste
¼cupgrated Coconut
1green chilly
Seasoning
1tbspCoconut Oil
1tspMustard Seeds
1/2TspUrad dal
10Curry Leaves
3Dried Red Chilly
Instructions
Heat oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Add mustard seeds and let them crackle
Then add urad dal, red chilli, and curry leaves, cooking until fragrant. About 25-30 seconds.
Add the green beans, salt, and stir together.Cover and cook until the beans are tender, about 8-10 minutes. If you think beans are catching the bottom of the pan, add ½ a cup of water.
Stir in grated coconut. For added flavour, Blend the coconut with green chilli and add it to the dish. (Optional step)
Serve hot.
Notes
If you enjoy a little extra heat, add one more green chilly while grinding. For a variation, add finely chopped onion in the initial step.
