Cook the potatoes - Boil the potatoes in a pressure cooker or pressure cook on High for 6 minutes on Instant Pot, NPR. When the potatoes are still warm, peel the skin.
Mash - Mash the Potatoes using a potato masher, making sure there are no lumps.
Mix the ingredients - Add the spice powders, corn flour and salt and mix the potatoes mixture well.
Make Potato Cakes - Apply some oil in between your palm. Pinch a portion of the potato mixture and shape the patties. Repeat the process with the rest of the mixture. I got 8 medium sized patties with the prepared potato mixture.
Frying the Tikki | Potato Cakes - Heat 2 Tbsp oil in a pan.When the oil is hot, slide the potato cakes into the oil.Fry the patty until it turns golden brown. Flip them once and fry it until the other side also turns crispy and golden brown. Remove the crispy Aloo Tikki onto a kitchen tissue paper to absorb any extra oil.
Serve hot Aloo Tikki with chutney's along with Masala Chai.If you like, sprinkle a fat pinch of chaat masala before serving. It is optional.
