Method One: Crack open the seeds and blend into fine powder.
Place the whole cardamom pods on a plate.
Heat in the microwave in short 15-second bursts, repeating until they are warm to the touch. About 1 - 1 1/2 minutes.
Allow the cardamom to cool a bit. Once cooled, remove the seeds from the pods.
Grind the seeds in a coffee or spice grinder until they are finely ground. Yielded about 48g of Ground cardamom which is 1/2 cup.
Store the ground cardamom in an airtight container and use it within 3 to 4 months for the best flavour.

How to finely ground cardamom powder with whole green cardamom?Place the whole cardamom pods on a plate in the microwave and heat them in bursts of 15 seconds at a time, repeating until they are warm to the touch. Alternatively, dry roast the cardamom on a hot skillet for 1 minute and then turn it off.Allow the cardamom to cool a bit.Now add the whole cardamom to a grinder jar and blend until they are finely ground. Pass the powdered spice through a sieve, if needed. This method also grinds the husk along with the seeds.
