Meet the best Holiday Chocolate Crinkles Cookies ! Make them for Christmas or for celebrations, they are definitely a show stopper.
Baking Fever has kicked off at home since a last few days and I am going to blame the Christmas season and my new Bosch Oven in the house:) Since the double oven is always accessible, I just enjoy sliding food into the oven either to bake or cook. Also started training H at home to use the Oven.
Let me recall a funny incident from last weekend. We do get half done baguette at Costco. So all that needs to be done is to place it in a 200C preheated oven for 10 -12min.
According to H, Conventional Oven is such a fancy gadget that needs a lot of precautions and needs special steps to follow. He can stir up a curry, make the most delicious egg roll and more comfort meals on the hob, but not the oven.
On Friday Night I showed him how easy is to to use and got him to follow the steps. In-between our weeknight conversation, the term ” Preheating” was missed , may be lost too. But he was amazed to see how lovely the bread got baked and so easily.
Next morning, he wanted to surprise his better half and had promptly placed the Baguette in the oven at the required settings but not ” Preheated” :)) When I stepped into the kitchen, it was a pleasing sight to see the oven working but a hearty laugh to see it not preheated :))
It was such a cute moment for me, but H did feel a bit awkward. It all happens to us the first time, doesn’t it!!
Do you recall any first incidents like these? Do share with me, I really enjoy those ‘FIRST’ moments!!
Coming back to the Chocolate Crinkles cookies, I used to awe looking at them countless times during occasions, made either by my friend or at stores. This year I was certain to bake them, no matter how many takes it takes. But these cookies were my maiden attempt and I am quite pleased with the way they turned out. This recipe is adapted from Simply Recipes.
A few people did give me shout asking if I did follow any specific technique or method to get them right and keep the icing sugar intact on the top – Well frankly speaking nothing. Just the needed steps for Chocolate Crinkles Cookies.
All the ingredients for this post were handpicked from one of my favourite stores Aldi. The Christmas season is just transporting me back to the stores again and again.
