Heyy Peeps! Wave hello to my gorgeous Delonghi Dedica Coffee Grinder & Espresso Coffee Machine!
It all starts with beans! Do you agree? Well, I do … My house smells coffee and pure coffee every time I grind the beans. And the Delonghi Dedica Espresso Coffee Machine makes the best Barista style cappuccino at home within minutes.
Three weeks ago, I was severely affected by the Aussie flu and it took me at least 2 weeks to recover. During this period, I had lost appetite and taste.. but trust me this Espresso Coffee Machine was a reviver. Two mugs of cappuccino a day for 3 days actually assisted in reviving my taste buds.
Now the Question is will I ever go back to Instant Coffee at home? Doubtful. When the Delonghi Dedica Duo is the powerful beasts and waiting to go on duty:)
Let me introduce you in detail to Delonghi Dedica Coffee Grinder from AO!
This coffee grinder is everything one can ask. It has got 18 settings that allow you to grind coffee beans to variable consistency to get coarse or fine coffee granules. You can grind the beans to suit an Espresso Maker, French Press or even cafetière-style brew!
The 350g beans capacity means you don’t have to grind often but having said that you can choose to grind for one cup to many!! How convenient is that!!
One other interesting feature the machine offers is Light, medium, strong grind for the coffee. The handy LCD display shows the chosen settings with a glow.
Overall, this coffee grinder is really easy to use and uncomplicated! I love this machine and it does exactly what a coffee grinder is meant to do!
For grinding my beans to make a great espresso & cappuccino, I moved the dial to 5 espresso setting (you can choose between 1 and 6 fine-ness). When its just two of us at home, I would grind for exactly 2 cups but over the weekend we had 6 coffee lovers, so I chose to grind for 6 cups, STRONG! Tadaa… Coffee Powder ready in seconds!!
So what’s next? Time to make my perfect Cappuccino in Delonghi Dedica Traditional Pump EC685.R Espresso Coffee Machine
Place the ground coffee filter either one cup or two depending on how many cups you are making into the filter holder. I have fitted one filter holder into the portafilter.
To make just one cup of coffee please one level measure of ground coffee powder into the filter. Fill the filter a little at a time to prevent the ground coffee from overflowing. Correct pressing of the ground coffee is essential to obtain a perfect espresso. If you press it too firm, the coffee will be delivered slowly and it will be too strong but if you press it too lightly, the coffee will be delivered quickly and will be too weak.
Attach the portafilter holder directly to the appliance. To do this align the handle with the insert symbol and rotate it towards the right to align with the close symbol. If you are using it for the first time it just takes a little bit of practice to get the alignment right.
Now place the cup under the filter holder. Check for the lights corresponding to the coffee buttons are on and press the single cup or double.
To remove the filter holder just turn the handle from right to left and repeat the process for making more espresso. I’m not a great fan of espresso or black coffee and have always loved cappuccino. So this machine does everything I need to make a perfect cappuccino.
Filled up creamer mug or a widemouthed mug with 100 ML of semi-skimmed milk. Make sure the cappuccino maker selection ring is in the cappuccino position.Wait for the light corresponding to the steam to come on steadily which indicates the boiler has reached the ideal temperature to produce steam.
Immerse the cappuccino maker into the milk container and turn the dial to the steam position. The steam delivered from the cappuccino maker giving the milk a creamier froth.
Pour the frothed milk into the cup containing the espresso coffee and the cappuccinos ready. Add sweetener if desired and sprinkle with some cocoa powder.
