Butter Cookies without eggs

These Quick and Easy Fork Butter Cookies are made with just 3 simple ingredients and no eggs. Buttery and melt-in-your-mouth, they’re ready in no time. Perfect for serving with afternoon tea, gifting as edible treats, or enjoying as a delightful snack!

Ingredients

  • 150 g self raising flour make your own with our homemade self raising flour recipe
  • 50 g sugar
  • 100 g butter

Optional add ins

  • Vanilla extract , ground cardamom, nutmeg

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 180°C (fan-assisted).
  • Add the softened butter to a mixing bowl and beat until softened. You can use a stand mixer with a paddle attachment or a handheld whisk.
  • Add the sugar and flour, and beat until combined. At this stage add ⅛th teaspoon ground cardamom or 1 teaspoon vanilla extract or ⅛th teaspoon nutmeg for flavouring the butter cookies.
  • Then, use your hands to form a smooth cookie dough.
  • Line two baking trays with with parchment paper.
  • Divide the dough into walnut-sized balls and place them on the tray with space between them.
  • Dip a fork in water and gently press down on the dough balls.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 15-17 minutes or until the cookies are pale golden.
  • Remove from the tray and cool on a wire rack.
