About this easy homemade Oreo Barfi

Want to know how I make this easy Oreo Barfi? Simply add oreo cookies and white chocolate to the Plain Milk powder barfi recipe and we have a Cookie and cream barfi - This is how simple, easy and delicious it is!

Just like how Cookie and Cream ice cream is made with vanilla ice cream and cream cookies.

My son calls it Cookie and Cream flavoured barfi because I have added Oreos to the recipe. My daughter prefers to call it a Cookie and Cream fudge!

Typically barfi is flavored with cardamom or rose water. We have chosen to flavor with Vanilla.

The proportions in the recipe are slightly altered from the milk barfi recipe, as we are adding cookies and chocolate. And this will help in ensuring our homemade barfi sets well.

Like the Milk powder barfi, this recipe is simple and straightforward.

  • Melt the butter in a non-stick pan.
  • Next, add the milk and bring it to a boil.
  • Add the sugar and cook until it melts.
  • Add the milk powder and mix thoroughly, stirring continuously making sure there are no lumps.
  • Continue to cook till the barfi mixture starts leaving the sides of the pan.
  • At this stage add the white chocolate and vanilla extract. Stir well until the chocolate just melts.
  • To test, lift a spoonful of the mix and drop it into a jug of ice-cold water. Check if a soft ball of fudge is formed.
  • Remove from heat. Continue stirring till the mixture is thick. Add the crushed cookie mixture.
  • Transfer the prepared mixture to the tray and flatten it with the back of a spoon/ ladle.
  • Cut into squares/rectangles when it cools down.
