About these Quick and Easy Gulab Jamun Shrikhand Jars
If you have gulab jamuns and shrikhand ready, this fusion Indian dessert is super easy to make and comes together in literally 10 minutes. They are a brilliant make-ahead dessert recipe. Assemble the jars a day or two in advance, seal them with lids and enjoy the celebration day stress-free.
For this recipe, I have used 135ml mason jars – perfect for serving small individual portions and great for portion control too.
Easy to scale the recipe for a crowd or half them too!
Ingredients
Gulab Jamun – You can easily buy Gulab Jamun in tins from your local Indian shop, buy them fresh from a mithai store or make it from a ready mix packet ahead of time.
Shrikhand – I have used homemade Mango shrikhand for this recipe, which I had made the previous day for dessert. You can choose to make Kesar Elachi Shrikhand or use store-bought shrikhand if you are pressed for time.
Biscuit Crust – Made with parle-g biscuit, butter, and a little cardamom for flavoring. You can use any biscuit or cookies like Marie biscuit, Digestives, Lotus Biscoff, or whichever you have at hand. Parle g biscuit is slightly less sweet and it compliments the shrikhand and gulab jamun layers well.
Garnish – Garnish the parfait jars with nuts and edible rose petals. You can also use Edible silver leaves if you have them handy.
How to make Gulab Jamun Jars with Shrikhand step by step?
Once all the ingredients are ready, all you need to do is assemble the shrikhand jars.
Add about 2 tablespoons of the parle g biscuit and butter crust layer.
Next pipe mango shrikhand until three-quarters of the jar.
