Sweet Corn Chaat - Masala Corn

Corn Chaat | Masala Corn  is one of the easiest and quickest Chaat Recipe to prepare as an appetiser/snack. With just 15 minutes in hand, you can surprise your family with a delicious treat.

When I had posted this imagery for Spicy Sweet Corn Chaat on Instagram and it received so much of love. A few of of my lovely readers/ followers also asked me for a recipe. Without much a do, I decided to share the recipe for masala Corn Chaat on my blog, even with minimum pics { may be for the very first time ever }.

What is Corn Chaat?

Corn Chat is one of the easiest and quickest snack/appetiser to prepare with Boiled sweet corn kernels. Sweet Corn Kernels are tossed with salad vegetables and chaat spices to call it corn chaat recipe.

How to make easy  Masala Corn Chaat?

I find Chaat recipes are the easiest to prepare as a snack, if you have all the essential ingredients ready.

INGREDIENTS NEEDED FOR MASALA CHAAT WITH CORN RECIPE

Sweet Corn is also known as American Corn. Use Fresh Corn, Frozen Corn or even Canned Corn for this masala corn recipe.

Salad Vegetables – Onions, Tomatoes and coriander leaves for garnishing.

Other spices that that make this Chaat recipe tasty are Chaat Masala, Black Salt, Chilli Powder and cumin powder { optional }. I like a good squeeze of lemon juice too.

Nylon Sev is a great adding to chaat. But you can leave it out too if you don’t have it handy.

To prepare this chaat, mix all the ingredients together in a bowl , check for taste and serve them in small ramekins or mason jars too.

Great as HOLIDAY SNACK too -Since school holidays are on in full force, I do have to find a new snack or a new healthy junk on for their meals.. There are many days now that my missy is revolting with the regular meals.. When I treated her to Buttered Sweet Corn she loved it.. And then I decided to spice it teeny weeny and it was a winner with the oldies & the youngsters at home.. What more can I ask for?

CORN CHAAT is a quick and easy appetiser recipe  made with Sweet Corn Kernels, salad vegetables and minimal spices. { 15 Minutes , VEGAN }

Ingredients

  • 250 g Cooked Sweet Corn Kernels
  • 1 Medium sized Onion finely chopped
  • 1 Medium sized Vine tomatoes finely diced
  • 3/4 -1 Tsp Chaat Powder
  • 1/2 Tsp Black Pepper Powder
  • 1/4- 1/2 Tsp Black Salt
  • 1/2 Tsp Chilli Powder Optional
  • 1/2 Tsp Chilli Flakes
  • Good Squeeze of Lemon Juice
  • Nylon Sev as needed
  • Salt as needed

Instructions

  • In a medium sized bowl, add cooked Sweet Corn Kernels, finely chopped onions, tomatoes, 1/2 tsp Black Pepper Powder, 1/2 tsp Chilli Powder, 3/4 tsp Chaat Powder, 1/4tsp Black salt, 1/2 Tsp Chilli Flakes. Stir it up. Add a good squeeze of Lemon Juice. Chek for salt and add more if needed. 
  • Divide them between snack bowls / preserving jars. Top up Corn Chaat with Nylon Sev, coriander leaves and serve. Leave out the Chilli, if you are making them for kids..
