NO CHURN CHOCOLATE ICE CREAM RECIPE

Okies, coming to this No churn double chocolate ice cream, I have confession to make. I began shooting this ice cream at midnight and ended up indulging in 2 cones of this luscious creamy homemade chocolate ice cream.  Who can really resist, when they are so so delicious.

Recently the lovely folks at OXO sent me the Trigger Ice cream scooper and I love it. They make the finest scoops always.I really kind of love it,  when the ice creams are full scooped rather than partially broken scoops.  The trigger scoop did exactly  what I wanted!!   I use this trigger scoop for scooping my perfect cookies, getting the right proportion for my vegan fritters and what not.

OXO’s Trigger Scoop makes large round scoops of Sorbets/ Ice creams and deposits them with a simple press of the lever. A tab on the Ice Cream Scoop keeps your hand from sliding up as you scoop, and the soft, non-slip handle relieves pressure on your hand.

INGREDIENTS FOR NO-CHURN CHOCOLATE ICE CREAM

Just Three primary Ingredients and 10 minutes of preparation is all that you need. If you fancy, top it up with lots of chocolate chips and call it CHOCOLATE CHIP ICE CREAM. Isn’t that amazing – add an ingredient to the base ice cream and we have new recipe.

Condensed Milk – I prefer to use Nestle Sweetened Condensed Milk for my ice cream recipes. Having tried and tested other brands, I find this condensed milk to give me the right texture and consistency.

Double Cream or Heavy Cream –  Double Cream works best for whipping up stiff peak . This step is absolutely mandatory to make a soft smooth scoops.

Cocoa Powder – Good quality cocoa powder adds the rich chocolate-y flavour to the ice cream. I have used Green & Black Organic Cocoa for this recipe.

Chocolate Chips {is Optional }, but I totally love it.

HOW TO MAKE THIS EASY CHOCOLATE ICE CREAM?

This Chocolate Ice cream is rich in flavour, decadent and totally creamy – made with the finest ingredients available in your pantry.

To make this chocolate ice cream with condensed milk, simply place cocoa powder and condensed milk in a bowl and stir them to combine. Slowly add all the cream to the mixture and begin to whip in medium to high speed until stiff peak is achieved.

Transfer the prepared ice cream mixture to a lined loaf pan. Fold in chocolate chips at this stage in you like until well combined.

Cover the top with a parchment paper followed by cling film and freeze for at-least 6 hours.  This wait and watch game is the most difficult part. If you are impatient like me when it comes to ice creams, then you are sure to check on the ice cream for every 30 minutes.   No matter how many times I check, it will take a minimum of 6 hours to freeze to the right consistency.

This ice cream can keep fresh in the freezer for up-to 1 month.

It’s so great to see a no churn recipe that looks so deliciously creamy! I have the tiniest kitchen and much as I’d love an ice cream maker there really is no room. No-churn ice cream to the rescue, and there is of course no better flavour than chocolate!
