Why you’ll love this recipe?
- Fast and Simple: With just 15 minutes from start to finish, this recipe is quick and effortless. Simply prepare your asparagus, season it, and let the air fryer do the rest. FASTER than cooking in the oven.
- Healthy Option: One of the best things about air frying asparagus is that it requires significantly less oil compared to other cooking methods. This recipe is a great way to enjoy your asparagus while keeping it healthy.
- Versatile: This recipe can be adapted to almost any type of vegetable you have on hand. So, you can switch things up and enjoy different veggies as a side dish.
Ingredients
Asparagus: The bright green stalks of asparagus are a delicious and versatile vegetable, perfect for air frying. Select firm, bright green stalks and avoid wilted or yellowed tips.
Seasonings: Salt, pepper, and garlic are classic seasonings that add flavor to your air-fried asparagus. Salt enhances the natural flavor, pepper adds heat, and garlic adds bold depth.
Oil: I personally love using olive oil when air frying my asparagus. However, other oils that work well for roasting include canola, avocado, and sunflower oil. These oils provide a crispy texture and prevent sticking.
Trim the Asparagus Spears
Trimming asparagus is a breeze. The quickest way is to bend each asparagus spear until it snaps. This method allows you to trim the asparagus naturally, where the tough and woody bottom part breaks away from the tender top.
If you prefer evenly trimmed asparagus, simply arrange the spears on a cutting board and cut where the stalks turn from white to green. This will give you perfectly trimmed asparagus tips that cook evenly and are easy to eat.
