TRENDING VIDEO 5 MINUTES BOOM BOOM SAUCE

EVER WONDERED WHY ARE THEY CALLED BUFFALO CAULIFLOWER WINGS?

Why would you really call something Buffalo Wings, when the recipe doesn’t even have chicken? I guess the idea was pretty simple. Instead of Chicken Wings coated in Franks Buffalo Sauce, we are dunking cauliflower in buffalo sauce.

My meat lover friends have also confirmed that these spicy buffalo bites taste just the same as chicken wings.I can’t ask for any more 🙂

For BBQ Cauliflower, use the same ingredients as the buffalo cauliflower recipe, except use BBQ SAUCE for glazing.

HOW TO MAKE AIR FRYER CAULIFLOWER WINGS

A Two-Step process is involved in making these Air fryer Buffalo Cauliflower Bites Wings Recipe.

Preheat the Airfryer at 400 degrees / 200 C.

First, the Cauliflower is dipped in a flour-water slurry and air fried for 10 minutes. Remember to turn the cauliflower florets at halfway through.

Coat the florets with a Hot Sauce Glaze. Arrange the coated cauliflower florets in the air fryer basket in a single layer and fry for another 10 minutes.

At 5 minutes intervals, give it a good shake. Remove the fried cauliflower wings and set it aside. Repeat the process with the second batch which takes approximately 20 minutes.

Tip to remember – Arrange the Cauliflower Wings in a single layer at all stages. Do not let the cauliflower florets overlap at any stage.

How to make this Cauliflower Hot Wings Gluten-Free, Keto Friendly, and Low Carb?

It is really simple with a just a few substitutions.

Use Almond Flour or Oats Flour instead of Plain Flour. I have made these Buffalo cauliflower bites using alternate flours as well and the platter was empty in a jiffy.

Avocado Oil and Olive Oil  instead of vegetable oil/ sunflower oil

Stevia Sweetener instead of Maple Syrup

IS COOKING WITH AN AIR FRYER HEALTHY FOR YOU?

Cooking with an Air fryer offers no compromise on taste. Most dishes that require deep frying can be prepared in an air-fryer. This gadget works by circulating hot air around the food to produce a crunchy crispy texture with minimal oil or no oil. Air fried food is a healthy alternative to deep fried food, all thanks to the lower amount of calories and fat.

If you are watching your waistline and working towards weight loss, an air fryer can be one of your best friends.

THINKING WHAT ELSE TO MAKE IN AN AIR FRYER?

These Buffalo Cauliflower are just so delicious that I love serving as Side dish or a filling for my tacos wrap.

Ingredients

Ingredients

  • 1 Medium Head of Cauliflower separated into florets

Ingredients for Batter Slurry

  • 1 Cup Almond Flour / Plain Flour
  • ¾ Tsp Chilli Powder / Paprika Powder
  • 2 Tsp Garlic Powder
  • ¾ Tsp Onion Powder
  • Salt & Pepper to taste
  • ¾ -1 Cup Water { Add more if needed }

Ingredients for Buffalo Wings Glaze

  • 5 Tbsp Buffalo Hot Sauce
  • 1 Tsp Olive Oil
  • 1 Tbsp Maple Syrup or Stevia sweetner { Optional } **

Instructions

Instructions

  • Wash the cauliflower head and cut them into florets. Approximately 3 Cups of florets.
  • In a small mixing bowl, add all the ingredients for batter mix and whisk them smooth. Batter mix should be thick enough to coat the florets well.
  • Dip the cauliflower florets individually into the batter mix, shake off any excess and place them on the parchment paper.
  • Preheat the Air fryer to 350F (180 C ) for 4 minutes. Pull the basket from the air fryer and place the cauliflower florets in them. Slide it back in the air fryer and fry for 10 minutes.
  • Turn the florets half way to cook uniformly.
  • In the meanwhile, prepare the buffalo wings glaze. Mix Buffalo Hot Sauce, Olive Oil and Maple Syrup and set it aside.
  • Coat the air fried cauliflower florets with the Buffalo Wings Glaze and toss it really well. Return the cauliflower bites wings to the air fryer and fry it further for 10 minutes or until crispy.
  • Repeat the process with the second batch.
  • Serve these Crispy Healthy Buffalo Cauliflower Wings with boom boom sauce or along with salad vegetables in a wrap.

Notes

Notes Cauliflower wings should not be touching each other while air frying. This can cause them to stick to each other. If you would like to make Cauliflower wings without flour, just fry the first batch with the seasoning until crispy and then coat it with buffalo hot sauce. If you enjoy it milder, reduce the sauce by 1 Tsp and if you enjoy it spicer, add another 2 tbsp of the hot sauce. ** If you would like to leave out maple syrup for ketogenic diet you can use a Stevia sweetener .
