About our easy Strawberry mug cake
Just like our favourite Air Fryer Chocolate Mug Cake, this strawberry cake is an absolute winner! It’s sweet, fluffy, and wonderfully refreshing. All you need are some basic pantry staples along with fresh strawberries. Just gather your ingredients, add them to your favourite mug, and pop it into the air fryer. It’s as simple as that to whip up a scrumptious mug cake in the air fryer.
For this recipe, I am using a 295ml Denby Kiln Blue mug. They’re the perfect size with ample clearance to prevent any overflow. Of course, if you don’t have one on hand, a ramekin will work just as well.

It’s really easy to use a boxed cake mix to make mug cake. But let me tell you, making a strawberry mug cake in the air fryer from scratch is also super easy. You will only need 6 ingredients for this egg less strawberry mug cake.
- Self-Raising Flour (also known as self-rising flour): Can be substituted with plain flour or all-purpose flour by adding baking powder to it.
- Sugar: Granulated sugar is used here, although caster sugar also works well.
- Milk: I use any milk that’s in the fridge – whole milk or semi-skimmed milk usually. Any plant-based milk will also work.
- Oil: I’ve used Sunflower oil. Substitute with Vegetable oil.
- Vanilla Extract: Adds additional flavour to the cake.
- Strawberries: Just two of them, chopped.
How to Make Eggless Strawberry Mug Cake in Air Fryer: Step by Step Guide
It’s super simple and straightforward to make these Air fryer Mug Cake No eggs.
- Step 1: In the mug, add the flour, and sugar. Use a fork to combine.
- Step 2: Add the wet ingredients – milk, oil, vanilla extract, and strawberries mix well.
- Step 3: Place the mug in a preheated air fryer. Cook in the air fryer for 13-15 minutes. Check whether the mug cake is baked through by inserting a skewer or toothpick in the middle of the cake. If it comes out clean, the cake is done. If the skewer is wet or with moist crumbles, cook for a further 3 minutes. I cooked for a total of 15 minutes.
- Step 4: Take the mug cake carefully using a kitchen towel or oven mitts. Allow it to cool for 5 minutes before serving. Serve with sliced strawberries and cream.
Storing Strawberry Mug Cake
Mug cakes tastes best when served warm on the day they are made. If you plan to enjoy the strawberry cake the following day, it’s best to cover and store it in the fridge. When ready to serve, simply heat the cake thoroughly in the microwave or air fryer until warm, then indulge in its deliciousness!
Can I prepare the mug cakes in advance and freeze it for later?
Yes, you can prepare the mug cakes and freeze them for later. Just like oven-baked cakes, you can freeze the mug cakes covered in the freezer for up to 3 months. Before enjoying, be sure to defrost and reheat them thoroughly
