Homemade Sriracha mayonnaise

About this Sriracha Mayo recipe

By now, you may already know that I love making easy dipping sauces at home without compromising on flavours. I have a quick and delicious recipe for creamy sriracha mayo that pairs well with anything you can imagine.

Although this recipe is not authentic Mediterranean, it is still my go-to way of making an easy sauce. It's worth noting that this sauce is different from authentic Sriracha Aioli, but it is equally delicious.

The recipe is Vegetarian and Gluten free. Can be made Vegan by substituting for vegan mayo.

What is Sriracha Mayonnaise made of?

As the name suggests, it is made of Sriracha Hot Sauce, Mayonnaise plus Garlic lemon and Salt.

ingredients for sriracha mayo

Mayonnaise - Use full fat mayonnaise for the creamy sauce. To make it Vegan, I prefer using Heinz Vegan Mayo, which is easily available at grocery stores. However, you can use any local brand of egg-free mayo if you prefer.

Sriracha Hot sauce - I recommend Flying Goose Sriracha Chili Sauce or any other local store brand. It has a tangy, slightly sweet taste and a moderate level of heat, making it a great addition to any sauce or marinade.

Garlic -Garlic is a flavourful ingredient that is used in many dishes, including sauces. It adds a savoury and slightly spicy taste to the Sriracha Mayonnaise. I prefer using garlic powder, but you can use minced fresh garlic if you prefer.

Lemon - Fresh Lemon juice is added to the Sriracha Mayonnaise to give it a bright, tangy flavour. It also helps to balance out the heat from the Sriracha hot sauce. Fresh lemon juice is preferred, but you can use bottled lemon juice as well.

Salt - Add Salt to enhance the flavours of the sauce. However it is important to taste the sauce as you add salt to avoid over-salting.

How to make Sriracha Mayo?

In a small bowl, combine mayonnaise, Sriracha hot sauce, garlic powder, and lemon juice.

Stir until well combined and smooth.

Taste the sauce and add salt as needed to enhance the flavours.

Transfer to a jar or container and refrigerate until ready to use.

You can adjust the amount of Sriracha hot sauce and garlic powder to your liking to make it more or less spicy or garlicky.

How to make Sriracha Aioli with Red Pepper?

To a food processor or blender jar, add 1 cup mayo, 3 tablespoon sriracha hot sauce, ¼ cup roasted red pepper, 1 tablespoon lemon juice and 2 cloves garlic. Process until smooth, about 15 seconds! Taste the sauce and add salt to taste.

How long does Sriracha Mayo keep?

Store Sriracha Mayo in an airtight container or glass jar in the refrigerator for up to a month. Be sure to check for any signs of spoilage before using it after the expiration date.

Can I freeze Sriracha Mayo?

While you technically can freeze Sriracha Mayo, it's not recommended as the texture and consistency can change when frozen and thawed. Hence it's best to prepare only the amount of Sriracha Mayo that you will use within a month and store it in an airtight container or glass jar in the refrigerator.
