This Sweet Chilli mayo is creamy, mildly sweet and spicy, and can complement any dish. It's an easy dipping sauce, made with just 3 ingredients, and ready in just 5 minutes!

  • Full-fat Mayonnaise: I always use full-fat mayo for that rich, creamy texture. For a vegan dip, vegan or egg-free mayo works perfectly.
  • Sweet Chilli Sauce: Use any good store-bought sweet chilli sauce—Blue Dragon, Heinz, or Sainsbury’s. Or make your own with my Sweet Chilli Pineapple Sauce recipe.
  • Garlic Powder: blends in smoothly and rounds out the flavour. I skip fresh garlic—it can get a bit too overpowering in this dip.
  • Optional Add-Ins: For extra heat or brightness, I sometimes add chilli flakes, a touch of hot sauce, or a splash of lemon juice. A tiny pinch of salt brings it all together.

Storing

This sweet chilli mayo keeps well in the fridge for up to 1 month. I don’t recommend freezing it.

Store homemade Sweet Chilli Mayonnaise in an airtight container or glass jar in the refrigerator for up to a month. Be sure to check for any signs of spoilage before using it after the expiration date.

Can I make Vegan Sweet Chilli Mayo?

Absolutely. Simply use vegan mayo like Heinz Plant based mayo in the recipe and mix with other ingredients.

Can I freeze Sweet Chilli Mayo?

While you technically can freeze sweet chilli mayo dip, it's not recommended as the texture and consistency can change when frozen and thawed. Hence it's best to prepare only the amount of dip that you will use within a month and store it in an airtight container or glass jar in the refrigerator.

Creamy sweet chilli mayo is an easy-to-make, delicious condiment, ready in just 5 minutes. It's a versatile dipping sauce that goes well with crispy potato slices, chips, fries, tacos, sandwiches, burgers, and more!

Ingredients

  • 1 cup mayonnaise or vegan mayonnaise
  • ¼ cup sweet chilli sauce
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ¼ teaspoon salt optional

Instructions

  • In a small bowl, combine the mayonnaise, sweet chilli sauce and garlic powder.

  • Stir the ingredients together until they are well combined and the sauce is smooth.
  • Taste the sauce and add salt if needed to enhance the flavours.

  • Transfer the sweet chilli mayo to a mason jar or container and refrigerate until ready to use.
